Jane’s Bio

Jane planting.jpgJane L. Fitzpatrick has been a writer for more than 30 years including creative writing, business writing and blogging. In addition to writing, she has represented her projects to many audiences and shared her techniques for developing “Story” through presentations to elementary and high school students. She was the LA Film Industry Examiner at examiner.com for more than 6 years.

Jane wrote the feature film screenplay, SACAJAWEA, The Windcatcher (formerly, Windcatcher: The Story of Sacajawea), an epic story based on the life of Sacajawea, inspired by the Journals of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Her unique vision is to share the Lewis and Clark journey through Sacajawea’s eyes. The project is currently in Development, to be produced in Oregon by Sacajawea The Movie, LLC and Broken Hand Productions, LLC.

MoviePosterColorFont2small (2)Sacajawea, The Windcatcher was selected and nominated in 2013, for BEST PERIOD PIECE by the Action On Film International Film Festival. Jane is writing a novel with the same title, to be completed in 2021, which will accompany the distribution of the feature film.

Kimama's Wings logoJane has also written a family-centered spec script entitled, Kimama’s Wings, a powerful story about faith and learning to live life in a spiritual way, by becoming aware of one’s self and Creation. In addition, Jane completed a treatment for Pomp, a mini-series based on the incredible and adventurous life of Sacajawea’s son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau.

jane speaking.jpgJane has published the children’s book, The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea, (Amazon.com). She completed the children’s chapter book, Crabtree, which is being developed for film and she’ll soon be publishing the children’s book, Petunia the Pink Tyrannosaurus Rex, written by Jane L. Fitzpatrick with Illustrations by her daughter, Shawna N. Fitzpatrick and Watercolor backgrounds by Jane and her granddaughter, Faith Halseth, among other projects.

Moon Drake Poster 1Jane’s most recent project is a children’s Anime TV series entitled Moon Drake. This series offers a new approach to the stories presented to children in our time. It has a unique and powerful format with storylines that focus on a relevant Truth for your child, through the natural elements of the Earth.
